Interfacing’s EPC Leverages IBM Cognos Business Intelligence
Category: AnnouncementsMontreal/Boston April 21, 2008
Interfacing Technologies Corporation has announced a partnership agreement with Cognos, an IBM company and world leader in business intelligence and performance management solutions, that will integrate IBM Cognos Business Intelligence (BI) and Performance Management with Interfacing’s Enterprise Process Center® (EPC) business process management (BPM) suite as the new EPC Performance Module. The EPC Performance Module gives organizations and users a powerful set of dashboards and reports based on the real-time business process information available within the EPC’s Datamart repository. The EPC presently supports the full range of 3rd party reporting tools, but through this partnership with Cognos a deeper level of integration is introduced to provide business users with one central portal for all Process, Document, Risk and now BI/Performance related information.
“The ’Intelligence’ in BI lies with the ability to quickly extract and display valuable information – this is crucial to efficient management of company processes, ensuring transparency and ownership throughout all levels of the organization,” says Meir Levi, Interfacing’s CEO. “We pride ourselves in simplifying the complexity for the business user – that is why we chose Cognos whom we found to bring the power of BI to the business level. We want every manager to be able to quickly access the information critical to his or her processes to ensure compliance and quality.”
“Interfacing’s integrated approach to managing processes, knowledge, people and applications is unique in the BPM field. Their single platform design will help companies unify their management, transformation, and governance tasks, while staying flexible enough to encourage agile company growth,” said Ted Jandl, Vice President, OEM Partner Channels at Cognos. “Executives will now gain a powerful perspective on their company, letting them understand what is happening, why, and what corrective actions must be taken to help the organization succeed.”
Interfacing selected the IBM Cognos solution because of its advanced architecture, ease of deployment and ease of use for non-technical business users. With Cognos’ robust features, business users will be able to build and schedule custom reports related to their process and organization performance and perform queries without specialized technical knowledge.
